Tony Hawk!!

I was invited to listen to Wajahat Ali’s interview with Tony Hawk and director Sam Jones about their documentary “Until the Wheels Fall Off”. While I was there, Tony Hawk was kind enough to chat, take a few pictures and sign my fine art pieces: Skateboard No. 1 and Skateboard No. 2.

Here is a video of their interview. Take a look!

About me

In the fall of 2017, I changed careers and shifted my world into the limitless realm of pottery. I had never worked with clay or glazes before, but soon realized it was something I absolutely loved and have practiced, every single day, since.

Each piece begins as a slab of high-fire stoneware clay which I hand-build into its final shape. The pieces are then bisque fired and sanded to create a canvas for my favorite part: the design and glazing. My designs are inspired by both nature and negative space in objects. I start with a shape or line and move from there, always with a desire to create movement. Anything from nature—landscapes, sunsets, insects, and birds—guide my choice of colors.

Due to the nature of how I create each piece, they are completely one of a kind—the shape, imperfections, design, and color. Each piece is a result of building on learned skills and trying something new.

I absolutely love what I do and am so grateful that I get to share it with the world.
